Veloso Salgado (1864-1945)-Original oil painting on wood, motif "Female Figure", signed and dated to the end of the 19th century. XIX, measuring 26x35cm, frame measuring 42x52cm.

Note: Veloso Salgado was born in Galicia, became Portuguese in 1887 and distinguished himself, above all, as a portrait painter and painter of historical themes. He took a painting course at the Academy of Fine Arts in Lisbon. He later went to Paris on a scholarship, having exhibited for the first time in 1889, at the Paris Salon. His first work to be recognized was "Amor e Psique" in 1891, followed by "Portrait of Conselheiro Venceslau de Lima". Before returning to Lisbon, he passed through Florence, where he painted "Jesus" in 1892, which is one of his most admired works. Another that is often reproduced is the "Coronation of D. João IV" and is on display in the Restoration room at the Military Museum of Lisbon. The work for sale is a Female Figure, corresponding to the French phase and the painting is in impeccable condition. It should be noted that the piece has a French romantic frame from the beginning of the century. XIX, richly carved and gilded, with an estimated auction value of 1500 euros
