Venetian Glass Wine Carafe with Enameled Scene - 19th Century
Venetian blown glass wine carafe. Mid to late 19th Century. Clear glass decorated with a finely painted Venetian scene depicting the Doge, wearing an Ermine cape, taking the hand of his Dogaressa, both dressed in their splendid golden robes. The scene takes place in St. Marks square and a servant in red is holding his robes. The enamel painting is colorful and beautifully executed by an unknown artist. Circa 1880.
