Very Large Egyptian Standard Top with Bes and Monkeys

Ptolemaic Period, 332-30 BC. A large glazed composition figure of the god Bes, squatting on a lotus-headed column, bearded, grimacing and wearing a tall crown with five black-tipped feathers; surrounded by several monkeys climbing over him; pierced laterally above the ears, above the feathers and below column to mount on a standard; supplied with a custom-made stand.
