Very Rare Chippendale Carved Mahogany Side Chair

Shoe and bottom third of proper left rear leg replaced.
Height 40 1/2 in.
Condition Report:
Slip seat frame replaced but appears to be a period slip seat frame. Proper right stile about a third up from the seat rails and re-glued. Crest rail cracked at junction of splat. rail and stile patch—1/2" x 1 1/2"; shoe crack along back length 1/2" reglued; proper right rear leg may be entirely replaced, starts 1/3 below rail, goes to 1/3 above rail, goes to edge of flute, different shaping, different finish of right fluting; scarfed in behind fluted area; from top of seat rail down may be new; back of both legs with large patch at junction of side rail; other rear leg broken- repaired. one leg, bottom 1/3 replaced. Other stile and leg patched all around side rail. With old label Lenox John B. Demlein Cabinet and Upholstered Furniture 1003 Park Ave. Bet. 84th and 85th St New York.
