Very Very Old Fitzgerald 12 Year Bottled-In-Bond Bourbon 'Richard King' (1967, 4/5 Quart)

[ translate ]

While regular Old Fitzgerald, Weller Special Reserve and other brands were the bulk of production for Stitzel Weller, Very Old Fitzgerald was considered their premium line from the late-1940s through the early-1980s.

This rare, personalized Very Very Old 12yr was distilled and barreled in 1955—under Pappy's leadership and supervision—and contains 100 percent Stitzel-Weller distillate. Pappy passed away in 1965 which means this barrel was dumped and bottled by his son, Julian II, in 1967.

Did You Know? The original Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897 made it illegal to label any bottle "bonded" if it was aged past 8 years. This was changed in 1958 which is how Old Fitzgerald (and others) were able to legally release 10-, 12-, 15- and even 18-year old bottled-in-bond bourbons.

Personalized for "Richard King"

Barreled: Fall 1955, Bottled: Fall 1967

Bottle Size: 4/5 qt, 100 Proof
Age Statement: Twelve Years
Packaging Details: 2x small drinking glasses & case included (writing on case)
