A very finely carved sculpture of a toad sitting on a rock, cut from a single piece of layered pink and black Rhodonite semi precious stone, the artist making maximum use of the pink vein in the stone, the eyes inlaid with glass. From the Idar-Oberstein school of gem cutting, West Germany, 20th century. Provenance: From the estate of a wealthy Amsterdam family. Condition: Excellent, no damages or repairs.
