Stone: Pezzotaite Weight: 7,885 ct Dimensions: 12. 53 x 9. 88 x 9. 53 mm Treatment: None Origin: Madagascar Pezzottaite is named after Dr. Fedrico Pezzotta for his work on granite pegmatite in Madagascar. Pezzottaite was discovered in 2002 at the Sakavalana mine in Ambatovita, Madagascar. Pezzottaite has a strong, intense and pronounced pink colour. Pezzottaite is one of the rarest gemstones currently available at gem markets. It can also be added that it was initially assumed that it was red beryl, formerly known as bixbyite. On closer inspection, however, it turned out to be a new mineral. In gemstone markets, however, it is often confused, and people try to sell it as a pure red beryl that can have even higher prices as it is even rarer. Our shipping costs have been verified and approved by Catawiki. We use an external shipping company that carries out the final inspection, collection, packaging and shipping; resulting in these shipping costs. The buyer will be responsible for any import / export costs, customs and shipping charges, etc. Please also see our other items and save shipping and personal collection costs. In some photos, the stone was illuminated to show you its colour. We have photographed some stones with a light source placed below, in order to better demonstrate the colour of these pieces. Please also consider that differences in colour are possible, because every computer screen, monitor and mobile phone display MAY show colours a little differently!
