Rare lidded box by Adrien Dalpayrat, Bourg-la-Reine (1844 - 1910) Dalpayrat is an important French ceramicist, best known for its innovative glazes. He became famous for the invention of a red copper-based glaze - a variation of the "sang-de-boeuf glaze”, which is named after him "Rouge Dalpayrat". The multi-coloured glaze contains shades of red to green tones to amber. Dalpayrat's works were sold by S. Bing in his gallery: Maison d ́ Art Moderne in Paris, among others. Height with lid: 18. 9 cm, diameter 13. 5 cm The lid has 2 distinct bumps. Under the bottom embossed: Dalpayrat, Arabic 2, 4 vertical notches and manufactory brand (fireball) .
