Veteran's Ladder Badge - 1st Illinois Light Artillery

Four-piece silver veteran's ladder badge. Boldly stamped with attribution to an unknown member of Company (Battery) A, 1st Illinois Light Artillery. The battery was raised in 1861 at the request of Governor Yates of Illinois and served with distinction at Fort Donelson, Shiloh, Chickasaw Bayou, Vicksburg, Peach Tree Creek, and Atlanta.
