[ translate ]

\Artist: Vicenç Solé Jorba (1904-1949)
Technique: Oil on panel\Signature: Hand signed\Dimensions: 32_3_41_cm
The painting is in overall good condition, in my opinion. It needs a cleaning and the frame should be replaced by a quality one according to the quality of the painting. Painter specialized landscape subject-matters, although he also made portraits. Vicenç Solé Jorba was trained at the School of Fine Arts of Olot, where he entered in 1915 and he studied with remarkable success. Twenty years later, in November 1935, he obtained the position of professor of drawing at the same school, covering the vacancy that had remained after the death of Professor Celestí Devesa. Solé Jorba was a favourite disciple of the notable landscape painter from Olot Lu Pascual, and took part in the collective exhibitions held at Sala Vayreda, in Olot. Most of his individual samples were made, with notable success, at the famous Sala Parés, in Barcelona. He also exhibited his work in Madrid and Bilbao. In 2005, the County Museum of La Garrotxa dedicated a broad anthological exhibition to him on the occasion of the centenary of his birth. He was a remarkable landscaper and his works, drawn with mastery, are shown impregnated with lyricism, sentimental emotion and extraordinary beauty and colour. His landscapes were the expression of his personal sensitivity and honesty, and he is currently considered one of the best Catalan landscape painters. Today he is represented at the Col•lecció Garreta-Rovira of Mollet del Vallès and at the Museu Comarcal de La Garrotxa, as well as in several private collections.
