Condition Notes: A striking Victorian suite with a hairwork surprise! The twisted and beaded wire elements of this suite make a nod to Etruscan revival jewelry in a way that mimics the granulation techniques practiced by the ancients. Unmarked, items test 14k gold. Minor tarnish to metal. Minor dents on earring tops. Enamel in very good condition. Earrings are completed by shepherd's hook. Brooch is completed by pinstem and C catch with attached safety chain and safety pin. Also having a hook on reverse for the addition of a drop component. The reverse of the brooch displays blonde hairwork covered by mineral crystal. It is easily removable if desired. The suite is accompanied by a fitted box signed "Whitmore & Son Jewellers, Northhampton."
