Condition Notes: Victorian brooches have that bold gold look in voluminous shapes. A fashionable Victorian lady must have worn this right at the collar. Unmarked, tests 14k gold. Completed by hinged pinstem and C catch. Having an attached ring on the reverse for use as a pendant. The reverse has an oval-shaped insert with glass crystal for the addition of hairwork. Note: the green stones test as beryl, but magnification reveals additional green coloring of foil backing in the closed-back setting. The green stones show natural, beryl-like inclusions. Minor tarnish to gold.
