Condition Notes: The cameo features a Bacchus-type figure in profile with grape clusters and leaves in the hair, imagery which is repeated in the gold surround. Who wouldn't want to wear a brooch that evokes the power of the wine gods? Having a French eagle head hallmark on the pinstem. Completed by pinstem and C catch. Enamel loss visible on grape leaves. Chips on reverse of cameo. Accompanied by an antique fitted box.
