second quarter 19th century, by James Dixon & Sons, Sheffield, of shaped oval form, the plateau flat-chased with a band of rocaille cartouches on a matte ground, with applied beaded rim and handles, the plateau engraved, on a rubbed-in plaque, "Barry".

Condition Report: **In overall good condition, with no breaks or repairs noted and no losses to the silvering. Minor scattered bumps on the beaded rim and light surface scuffs and scrapes consistent with age and use. Marked, on the underside rim, with "D*S", "PGS", "667A" and a crown.
