Victorian Rococo Revival Carved Mahogany Parlor Sofa with Pink Upholstery
Dating to the late 19th century, this American Victorian Rococo Revival settee features a shaped frame crafted from carved mahogany and rich wood veneers. The arched crest rail is accented with a relief-carved palmette and foliate medallion, balanced by scroll-carved arm terminals and a centered pierced foliate drop on the apron. The backrest and continuous seat are upholstered in a rose pink fabric displaying a geometric diamond trellis and floral sprig motif. Supported on acanthus-carved cabriole front legs and curved rear legs, the sofa is fitted with wheel casters throughout.
