An outstanding pair of Victorian earrings in the form of little baskets full of red corals. The gold is embossed engraved and exquisitely detailed with leaves and twisted gold wires. It comes from a sicilian inheritance. In Sicily red coral is a must for all women as symbol of good luck, health and happiness. This pair of earrings are very special-one and rare for the form and the quality of goldsmith's art. End of 19th century. 14K gold. An old hallmark is on the hooks. From Sicily.
