Victorian mare clock, around 1860
Heavy, large movement, with a quarter-hour strike on forged clay spirals. Three windings via chain and worm, heavy pendulum with large, silver-plated dial with strike stop. Case made of solid and partly veneered mahogany with maple band inlays and floral ornaments on the front. Finely cut sound outlet openings on the sides with heavy bronze handles. The upper part of the case is closed with a bronze eagle sitting on a globe. Clock in a well-kept condition, little signs of age and use, England circa 1860.
