Vieux Bruxelles - Figurine - Maria met Kind - Porcelain

Beautiful statue of Mary and Child in multi-colored and gilded porcelain.

This Vieux-Bruxelles style statue shows Mary, crowned as Queen of Heaven, with the child Jesus. Jesus has one arm around Mary, and in his other hand he carries an orb as a symbol of his divine power. Note the expressive faces. The statue is richly decorated with gold leaf. The base bears the monogram 'AVM' for AVe Maria.

The statue and gilding are in very good condition considering their age. Note that two chips are missing on the back of Maria's crown.
