Villeroy et Boch Luxembourg - Sculpture

Rare fauna sitting on a geometric stele, published by the Compagnie des Arts Français and manufactured by Villeroy & Boch Luxembourg under model number 417, circa 1929. It is covered with a superb and rare celadon green enamel, referenced under the decor number 385. Signed with the acronym of the Compagnie des Arts Français, Villeroy & Boch model number 417 in hollow and pattern number 385 in ink. This acronym is reproduced on page 314 to the publishers in the book "Les craquelés Art Déco" by Alain-René Hardy & Bruno Giardi published by Editions Penthesilia. Large artwork, height: 38 cm, base 14. 5 x 12 cm. A similar model, with another decoration, is in the collection of the Musée national d'histoire et d'art la Ville de Luxembourg (M. N. H. A.) . In perfect condition. Note a very slight browning on the perimeter of the base.
