Vintage 10kt Blue Topaz Pearl Diamond Ring - almost butterfly shaped with the four large blue topaz stones pointing out at angles. The setting covers the top of the finger and is appx. 16.7mm by 16mm. The band is 2.7 mm at the top shoulders with a long cut-out and tapers down to a solid band that is 1.7mm at the back of the finger. Each stone is appx. .85 ctw for a total of 3.40 tcw in blue topaz. Set raised in the center is an appx. 7mm cultured pearl and there are four small 1.5mm diamonds set between the topaz stones. The blue is deep and clear - similar to Blue Nile with the rich blue color and clear stones. The ring is marked 10kt and tested - yellow gold. It is signed either DR or DO. The stones test as blue topaz - they are not glass or crystal imitations. They are likely either treated topaz to get that deep even color or are lab created which means they are grown in labs and the stones have the same properties as natural stones. It is very common to do that since the 1900's as most lab created stones are near perfect and have the exact same chemical properties as natural stones. This came from a PA estate. See photos. (Lot.
