Vintage Cast Plaster Figurine of a Long Haired Cat Playing with a Ball of Yarn

A vintage folk-art style figurine of a long-haired cat in a playful reclining pose. The piece is modeled with heavy, deep texture to simulate the appearance of a Persian or long-haired cat, with its right forepaw resting on a large ball of yarn and a strand of yarn draped across its body. The figurine is constructed from cast plaster with a distressed charcoal black finish, enhanced by heavy white dry-brushing to highlight the fur texture. The yarn ball, the strand of yarn, and the nose are finished in a contrasting brick red paint. The eyes are painted black with white highlights. The underside and exterior show no visible maker's marks, signatures, or inscriptions.Length: Approximately 11 inchesHeight: Approximately 7 inches.
