Title: XL VERY EARLY, MUSEUM QUALITY Vintage Stars Garden Maze Antique Quilt ~c. 1830!
Description: This AMAZING cotton stars quilt is hand pieced and hand quilted, with garden maze gating and VERY EARLY, PRE-1830 fabrics, including some wonderful chintz fabrics. It measures an extra large 104" X 126" and is in good condition, with age spotting in places, and the beginnings of popping and some light, inconspicuous deterioration less than 5% of the fabrics (see photos, where most visible fabric wear is shown). The quilting is superb, with quilting around the piecework and in elaborate feather and other designs in the background, all at an even 10 stitches to the inch. The back and hand stitched binding are the same age white used in the background, and the batting is thin. You can see cotton seed residue inside when you hold the quilt up to the light.
