Vintage Estate 14kt Art Nouveau Amethyst Brooch, Oval
Vintage Estate 14kt Gold Art Nouveau Oval Brooch with Scrolled Setting. It has an amethyst colored stone that is purple with clear areas and darker areas - from underneath - the stone looks blue and purple and clear but the darker purple is more to the center with the clear and lighter to blue area to the sides. It is an oval stone that is smooth on top but faceted underneath. The stone is approximately 14mm long and 7mm wide. It is bezel set. It has a c-clasp with 14kt marked on it and there is a mark of OOO on the back frame of the brooch. The brooch is 1-1/3" wide and about 2/3" tall. The frame has cut-out areas and scrolls with ball accents. Weight is 3.28 grams. Very pleasing with an older time look. This came from a PA estate sale with many pieces of fine jewelry from Victorian days to the 1970's. This piece is my favorite. See photos.
