Title: Vintage Fringed Bib Necklace & Dress Set Enameled & Rhinestones by New England Glassworks
Additional Information: This gorgeous necklace and dress clip set has a bib front with unique but royal looking gemstone colors in all of the stones, some cabochons and some faceted stones. The drops have ruby red, emerald green and amethyst purple, as well as turquoise enamels with a mauve swirl. The necklace front is in three sections with a large open worked antiqued gold tone metal front with more sapphire blue faceted stones and a ruby red faceted stone and cabochon in the same color. The stations flanking the center are two elongated cut work goldtone metal stations with swirled enamels with emerald green and ruby red stones. The fancy front stations are connected via a little wider flat ribbed linkage. The neck chain is a larger brass rolo chain with links a little over 1/8” in diameter and a push style clasp. The fancy front drop spans 4 ½” of the 16 ½” neckline and it is easy to add a chain extender with the same style clasp or spring ring closure, or even the same type closure, or even a chain bracelet to change the drop or add neck length without destroying the integrity of the necklace. The matching dress clip has 1 ¾” long and 1 ¼” wide dimensions, with the same patterns in the metal work, styling, stones and enamel work. The back of the dress clip is signed NE which is the mark for New England Glassworks that was making jewelry from 1911 till 1958. New England Glass works used a lot of intricate designs and cut work. A great way to collect, these clip sets are emerging as the vintage jewelry market grows. A collectible set, looking much like a Victorian Revival set, it is well made and everything is in excellent condition.
