Vintage Jupiter 2 Red Cold Blast Hurricane Lantern

A vintage red-painted steel cold blast hurricane lantern. The lantern features a bulbous clear glass globe protected by a wire guard. The lantern body includes a top chimney with a wire bail handle, vertical air tubes, and a wide fuel tank base. The front of the fuel tank features an embossed mark reading JUPITER 2. A red-painted metal fuel filler cap is located on the base, featuring embossed characters in a circular arrangement around the word JUPITER. The lantern is equipped with a mechanical lift lever to raise the globe for lighting and a knurled wick adjustment knob. The lantern remains in its original fuel-burning configuration and has not been electrified. Height: 12 inches to the top of the chimney; 18 inches with handle extended.Base Diameter: 8 inches.
