Vintage MMA glazed Sgraffito charger plate. Marked on underside, reads Metropolitan Museum Italy. This is a vintage Metropolitan Museum of Art American Sgraffito red ware charger plate. Originally made in Italy around the 1960s to 1970s. Made of red clay using the sgraffito technique with patterned edge. Features a stylized peacock in green yellow and brown with the inscription 1793HR, referencing Pennsylvania German potter Heinrich Roth. Underside is unglazed. Crackle glaze.
