Vintage Phonograph Wax Cylinder Cases (4)
A fantastic grouping of four phonograph cylinder record storage cases dating to the early 1900s, an era when Edison and Columbia format wax cylinders dominated home audio entertainment. The lot features three rectangular suitcase-style cases constructed of wood and wrapped in dark faux-leather canvas, alongside a deep, square tabletop model equipped with an internal cloth-lined dual-tier flip tray with numbered organizational slots. All three rectangular cases retain their original internal cardboard peg grids, with all storage posts completely present, though no actual cylinder records are included. Condition is structurally sound but shows heavy, age-appropriate wear throughout, including significant scuffs, fraying, and fabric losses to the exterior coverings, surface rust on the metal latches and hinges, deterioration to the leather handles, and expected dust and staining to the interiors. Large case: H 10 1/2", W 16", D 16". Rectangular cases (each): H 6", W 24", D 12". Please see photos for condition. From the Allen Koenigsberg collection.
