Vintage Sabino Medium Art Glass Scottie Dog Figurine

[ translate ]

This Sabino Medium Art Glass Scottie Dog Figurine is in very good condition. Has the original foil label and is signed on the bottom. It does have a very minute flea bite on the left ear. I tried to show it in photos but I do not think you can see it – it can be felt with the fingernail but does not distract from the beauty of this item at all. Sabino glass was made in the 1920s and 1930s in Paris, France. Founded by Marius-Ernest Sabino (1878-1961), the firm was noted for Art Deco lamps, vases, figurines, and animals in clear, colored, and opalescent glass. Sabino himself was known for creating lights ranging from small lamps to large chandeliers, and also architectural lighting for hotels and restaurants. Production stopped during World War II but resumed in the 1960s with the manufacture of nude figurines and small opalescent glass animals. This piece sells for over 300 on the Sabino Art Glass site. It measures approximately 4 ½” x 3 ½” x 1 ¾”
