Vintage Scrimshaw Sterling Ring, Big Cat

Vintage Scrimshaw Big Cat Ring, size 7 ,8.97 grams. Age is pre-1960's. It is signed by a Southwestern/Native American artist who is unknown to me. It is signed with a feather or fishbone pictograph. It is marked sterling under a mountain like peaked line. The scrimshaw is aged ivory/bone colored. It is appx. 16.4mm by 12.5mm, oval. The image is a vague mountain lion, cougar. It has been worn as can be seen in the photos. It is lighting etched and then inked/painted over. It's a ghost cat. It is bezel set and the top of the piece sits up 5.8mm. The ring has a split band at the side that is appx. 14.6 mm wide and it then forms into two fused ridged bands that are 7.4mm wide. Very nice older vintage ring. It has typical vintage patina that can be cleaned to look new but I would leave this as is as many vintage buyers prefer it that way. This came from a PA estate. See photos. Lot. Loc.
