Vintage Sterling Southwestern Amber Necklace, 22"
Vintage Sterling Southwestern Amber Necklace - this is a statement necklace with a 2.25" teardrop southwestern pendant with a bezel set large amber stone and leaves and scrolled vines on top. It has an interesting large hand-made bail that has about a 10mm opening for sliding on and off of your favorite chains. The bail has a bypass design with a ball on each end of the oval. the chain is a woven S-link style link that is twisted, It is 22" long and appx. 2.5mm wide. The chain is signed Italy and .925 (and tested) and also has a CR mark like Carolyn Pollack Relios but the mark doesn't look right to be - it could be a different C R as it isn't quite the moon shape. The pendant is marked .925 but not signed by maker. As to the amber - it looks beautiful, it is a lighter weight than some I've handled but good amber is lighter however on the bottom there is a faint circle mark which leads me to believe this is a created piece. There are two blemishes on the bottom with darkened spots making it look real but they can also be placed there. I'm selling this based on it being created amber and basically for the sterling chain and design and at a created amber price. The sterling has been tested and it is sterling.
