Vintage Wicker Suitcase Style Picnic Hamper with Gingham Lining.
A vintage wicker picnic hamper, constructed in a suitcase-style form with a hinged lid and integrated carry handle. The exterior features a two-tone woven design, utilising dark brown and natural tan reed or willow. The hamper is reinforced with a thicker, light-coloured reed trim around the edges and opening. The interior is lined with a blue and white gingham check fabric. The case is secured with a central leather strap and a metal flip-lock latch. The interior lid is equipped with brown leather buckled straps designed to secure plates and cutlery. The lot currently includes two white plastic plates featuring a floral and leaf motif. There are no visible maker's marks, brand labels, or signatures on the interior or exterior of the hamper.

The hamper is in fair vintage condition. The exterior wicker shows signs of age with minor fraying to the reed and surface dust (photo 1). The leather closure strap shows heavy wear, surface cracking, and significant patination to the metal hardware (photo 3). The gingham lining appears generally intact but shows staining and discoloration consistent with use (photo 2). One leather securing strap on the right side of the lid is detached and missing its buckle (photo 2). Several metal snaps for securing accessories are present, but the corresponding components are missing. The hamper is incomplete, missing its original cutlery, cups, and additional service ware.
