Soviet social realism painting by Vladimir Mikhailovich Chernikov (1918-1992) , Soldiers on patrol, 57-46 cm, oil on cardboard, 1970s. With authentication from his son on the back of the painting.

The painting will be sold with authentication on the photo which includes the export permit and appraisal of the Chernigov museum, with the signature of the director, expert, the stamp, the repertoire number in the archive and the date. (see photo) .

biography:
Soviet Ukrainian artist. Honored Artist of the USSR. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. Chernikov Vladimir Mikhailovich was born on January 15, 1918 in the city of Lisichansk. In 1939 he graduated from the Voroshilovgrad (now Lugansk) art school. Member of the Great Patriotic War. From 1946 to 1951 he studied at the Kiev Art Institute with E. Sagaidachny, A. Shovkunenko, I. Kudryavtsev, K. Trokhimenko and K. Elieva. Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. The husband of the famous Ukrainian artist Sogoyan Vera Solomonovna. In the 1950s he participated in the planning of the Exhibition of Achievements of the National Economy in Kiev. V. M. Chernikov – participant in art exhibitions: republican – since 1951, all-Union since 1957, international – since 1959. He was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor, medals, the Diploma of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the SSR Ukraine. In 1973, Chernikov, V. M. awarded the title of “Honored Artist of the USSR”. Member of the CPSU. He worked in the field of easel painting, graphics and posters. Participated in exhibitions: republican since 1951, All-Union since 1957, foreign since 1959. The artist died in Kiev on March 17, 1992. The works of V. M Chernikov are stored: in the National Art Museum of Ukraine , Donetsk Regional Art Museum, in private collections in Ukraine and abroad.
