From the USA where it was delivered to Steven Costa by VW dealer Gardner Motors in Fresno via San Francisco harbour. For years, Steven used this T1 at his vineyard and it wasn’t until 2002 that he sold the car to Angel Diaz from El Paso, Texas. Dean and Helena Suhr from Catalina, California, became the lawful owners of the car in October 2012 (which was still unrestored at the time) . However, these owners wanted the car in perfect condition. No welding required, it was simply not necessary as the VW had driven around in dry climate, rust never got a chance. They also performed some modifications. The most prominent being the currently fitted and much stronger 1600cc engine and disc brakes on the front axle. This T1 drives great and will be delivered including an official VW Zertifikat, photos, history documents, old ads, etcetera. So it is unique in terms of history and condition, and incomparable to many others. This VW T1 unleashes a great deal of nostalgia from its passengers, but also among other drivers on the road, this is why this car is also highly suitable for promotional purposes.
