Volkswagen - T3- 1981

I bought this van several years ago to use the engine and transmission in another van. This one got a 1. 6 liter CT engine with its transmission (these are different with CT and CU engines) . This 1. 6 runs well and has driven about 120,000 original kms. Completely original engine, except the fuel pump (now electric, see invoice) and the ignition (back on contact points) . The 2. 0 CU-motor is of course mentioned on the attached “birth certificate”. The van does have its hydraulic decoupling and brake booster, 2 things other 1. 6L air boxers do not have (ever!) . The bus came from Greece, via the Netherlands, to Belgium. It can easily be registered in any European country. I’ve done some work to the front wheel suspension in order to be exempt from periodic vehicle inspections, I also replaced the flexible brake lines. The van stood still for a long time, the front brake calipers were completely stuck (see photos of the revised calipers and the invoice worth 280 euros) . The battery was flat and replaced. About 850 euros has recently been invested in total to get it in this condition. Most vans will have rust, this one too but very little, there is a lot above the front bumper but it’s not rusted through. You’ll have to look closely, there are some blisters on the bottom of the B-styles and around the front window. Bottom and wheel arches are perfect! The Greek climate has had a clear influence here. The van has grey and black wheel covers. You’ll get both sets as well as an extra rear bumper. This van has a lot of potential. It’s already really cool, it has an air-cooled sound and large "truck-outside mirrors". It’ll be great if you have it lowered. You can also furnish the back: turn a working van into a camper van, the possibilities are endless. It does have something special with the Greek text on the side (don’t worry, nothing dodgy, but normal text relating to road resurfacing) . This van has a low reserved. Don't let it slip away! You try finding another (air-cooled) T3 for less. . . Good luck! It can be delivered at an additional cost, please contact me for options. The car can be viewed and collected in Turnhout, Belgium.
