Volvo 1800 ES. Manual gearbox with overdrive, genuine Californian car with very low mileage (47014) and subject to a recent cosmetic restoration. Runs and drives beautifully. French registered (Carte Grise collection) . Chassis number 1836354000587 confirms an early example built for the Californian market in November 1971 (1972 model year) , retaining the European style bumpers unlike the later export car's less attractive energy absorbing type. Sympathetically restored recently including a full near concours quality respray in its original 111 code light blue metallic. Panel fit itruly exceptional for a car of its age. The original carpets are still in place and the under-bonnet area is original. The chrome-work has been refinished to concours standards, and a set of leather Recaro seats with adjustable head restraints have been fitted (leather/vinyl originals supplied with the car but need re-covering) . A new fuel tank and fuel pump have been installed along with a new exhaust system. All the glass is in great condition and everything works as it should including the overdrive which provides effortless cruising. Wheels are genuine Volvo 16 inch Icarus alloys shod with new Dunlop Sport 205/55/R16 tyres providing a wider track and their lower profile and modern technology really does transform the handling. The original 15 inch wheels, stainless steel embellishers are also supplied with the car but need restoring and still fitted with Pirelli Cinturato tyres that date from the early 1980's . Every aspect points to the low mileage being genuine. The engine is totally original and runs beautifully, never overheats and uses no oil.
