Volvo - PV 544 - 1959

[ translate ]

Because the former owner - who bought the car in 1982 - has passed away, this Volvo is now up for sale. This magnificently restored Volvo PV 544 was built in 1959. The car was sprayed in the original blue colour about 20 years ago, after an extensive and complete restoration. Since then it has accumulated nice patina, aside from some forgivable lacquer imperfections. This car was sold new in Sweden and the first owner possessed it for 23 years. After that, the car went to the former owner in 1982 in the Netherlands. This is a well-maintained car that now needs some attention after a period of standstill. The muffler needs to be replaced, the brakes need to be checked, and a new battery and a maintenance service would do the car’s technical parts well. The starter has already been replaced, as well as the fuel pump. The engine runs very neatly, it is the original B16 1. 6 litre 60HP engine, couple to a 3-speed gearbox that shifts very well. The handbrake works fine. Of course you already noticed the optional sun visor. The seller has many contacts, domestically as well abroad, and can help in supplying spare parts. Parts are widely available, it is no problem to purchase them. What is remarkable is that the car still has its original upholstery, which implies that the car was rarely used and that it was used in a respectful manner. The car is exempt from APK (Dutch periodic vehicle inspection) and it is also exempt from (Dutch) road tax. The car is in Hengevelde, the Netherlands. The seller can arrange relatively cheap transport throughout Europe, even now during the coronavirus crisis. Worldwide transport is not a problem as this is be done by a professional transport company.
