with straight slender fullered blade of flattened-hexagonal section, silver-plated base metal hilt, comprising a pair of straight spirally-fluted quillons with button-shaped terminals, deep cup-guard pierced and chased with a central rondel of interlocking arches and foliage, a framework of bold scrolls of foliage inhabited by beasts, and the upper portion formed as a broad frame of interlocking rings, knuckle-guard en suite with the quillons, ovoid pommel pierced with foliage en suite with the guard, and the grip bound with plaited wire between 'Turk's Heads', in leather scabbard with silver chape (shrunk)
