formed of alternating small rings of rivetted oval-section wire and circular section wire, fitted in the centre at the top with a low domed copper-alloy roundel with ring terminal, extending over the back and the chest, open at the face with a flap extending over the nose and pierced for the eyes, with brass borders and retaining a portion of its blue lining (rusted, small holes)
