William Dole, American, 1917-1983. A mid 20th century mixed media collage on paper, titled "Valentine". Signed "W. Dole" and dated "1961" with "France" watermark to paper lower right. Retains a label verso from the 1977 Dole Retrospective at the "Santa Barbara Museum of Art", as well gallery labels from "Esther Bear Gallery / Santa Barbara", the "Fine Arts Gallery of San Diego". From the former collection of "Margaret Mallory" in Santa Barbara. Slight foxing, not examined out of frame. Image 11 1/2 x 8 1/2" high, in a simple wood frame, 18 3/4 x 16 1/4" high overall.
