W. Richards of London percussion 8 bore single barrel shotgun, 35inch barrel with gold lined false breech and platinum safety plug, the barrel flat engraved with the maker name, scroll engraved back action, chequered stock with pineapple finial scroll trigger guard. Section 58 (2) Antique / obsolete calibre, can be owned without a licence. Buyer must be over the age of 18, age verification will be required if the lot is to be posted out. Dimensions: 132cm longCondition Report The gun is in worn / tired condition and shows signs of age and wear. A full strip and clean up would improve it but it will never be a pristine example again. There is overall heavy pitting, too deep to polish out and the bore has similar pitting and corrosion throughout. The action cocks and releases with a strong spring, the nipple is corroded and seized in.The stock has a crack just ahead of the side nail emanating from the barrel channel. The ramrod is ill fitting and possibly a replacement. There are lots of dents and marks to the wood stock which can be seen from the images. Some screw heads show signs of being worked.
