WANDER ON PURPOSE Artist: Eye Violet Wander on Purpose is an ode to creative expression and its potential for healing community and self. This design honours ‘Painted Fabrics,’ a transformative project developed in the 1920’s in Sheffield whereby ex-servicemen created handcrafted fabrics together. As part of the rehabilitation Annie Bindon Carter developed the idea of tying paint brushes to the amputees’ residual limbs which enabled the injured ex-servicemen to stencil and paint fabrics.
