WEDGWOOD BLACK BASALT MONUMENTAL VASE AND COVER, ON PEDESTAL dated 1922, impressed uppercase marks, script T.S and BB914, modeled by Bert Bentley (1878-1937), of shield shape, the conical cover surmounted by a putto, the incurved neck flanked by seated maiden handles, above molded floral swags, the lower body paneled with trelliswork above large acanthus leaves, on a conforming drum-shaped pedestal base, the pierced trellis panels divided by pendant ribbon-tied trophies, the footrim with berried vine, h: 29 in.; base, h: 16 in.
