WEDGWOOD BLACK BASALT SPHINX 'BRAINSTONE' VASE AND COVER 19th Century, impressed uppercase mark, recorded as shape no. 140, in the Egyptian Revival style, the central oval vermicule textured amphora and cover, flanked by swan neck handles, supported on the wings of addorsed sphinxes, above a rectangular base bordered with key pattern, h: 14 x w: 12 1/2 in.
