WEDGWOOD & BENTLEY BLACK BASALT CARYATID VASE AND COVER circa 1775, impressed Wedgwood & Bentley, informed by a design for a perfume burner by Joseph-Marie Vien, the engine-turned striated body supported by three addorsed monopodia caryatid figures, each holding a laurel garland, the conforming domed cover with a widow finial, on a stepped tripartite base, h: 7 3/4 in.
