Publisher's cloth lettered in blue, without dust jacket. 9 1/4 x 6 1/4 inches (23 x 16 cm); 246 pp., photographic reproductions after Weegee. Cloth toned and lightly soiled, thumbsoiling.
"VJ Day" or "Victory over Japan Day" was celebrated on 14 August 1945. This certainly a timely inscription as Weegee's photographs depict the affects of the Great Depression and the War Years on New York City.
