GPAnalysis: A Purple Label 1.8 (C-1) copy sold for $104 in October 2020.
This mag's cover, by Al Williamson, Al Feldstein and Roy Krenkel, is an excellent synthesis of all three artist's strengths, with Feldstein's inks giving solidity to the space station and Krenkel's lighter touch emphasizing the weightlessness of the floating figures. The cover illustrates Williamson's story, "Homesick!," which opens with a panel depicting a man's face reflected in a spaceship's porthole. It's said that this panel inspired Flash Gordon artist Dan Barry to hire Williamson and Krenkel to assist on the strip.
A limited edition of 150 softcover and 15 hardcover catalogues is available. 400 lots, fully illustrated. Fun reference, great keepsake. Softcover $30, deluxe hardcover with dust jacket and limitation plate $200. Ten of the 15 hardcovers are pre-ordered and the rest will go quickly, so reserve yours now.
