WELLS, H. G. (1866-1946). The War in the Worlds Serialized in Cosmopolitan Magazine. Complete In 9 volumes. [New York]: The Cosmopolitan Press, April 1897 - December 1897. Vol. XXII no. 6, vol. XXIII nos. 1-6, and vol. XXIV nos. 1-2. 4to. Illustrated throughout by Warwick Goble and Cosmo Rowe. Printed paper wrappers. THE COMPLETE, UNBROKEN SERIALIZATION IN COSMOPOLITAN MAGAZINE. The Cosmopolitan run was simultaneous to the serialization in Pearson's but perhaps available earlier, as, with most U.S. periodicals of the time, the magazine used an advanced 'newsstand' cover date that saw upcoming issues sold in the last weeks of the preceding month, while U.K. magazines such as Pearson's were available as dated.

Condition

General light to moderate soiling, toning, creasing, edge wear, and chipping to wrappers. Some hinges loose, gutters starting, interior foxing, spotting, water damage, toning. Overall very good.
