Approx 33,000 navy models were produced by Whitney from the 1850's-60's/ This example falls within the serial number range of the 3rd type revolvers that feature a change to the loading lever catch. It is fit with a 7.5" octagon bbl with small brass post front sight, loading lever and E. WHITNEY/N. HAVEN address. 6-shot round cylinder with light remnants of the cylinder scene. Brass trigger guard. 2-piece smooth walnut grips. CONDITION: Overall good. The metal finish has faded with a dark patina to the metal surfaces remaining. The markings are legible, but a little light.
