Cal. 44 WCF. S# 276518B. Bbl. 16". Blade front sight w/ graduated leaf carbine rear sight having 1873 date. Full length mag. Action has saddle ring on left side. Proper 7 7/8" trapper length walnut forearm & straight grip walnut stock w/ trapdoor carbine buttplate. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Cody Firearms Museum records search lists the following information: "SN applied: 8-8-1888 / Date in: 8-20-1888 / Carbine / Caliber: 44 / Bbl. length: 16 / Date shipped : 8-20-1888 / Order # 10762". Also includes a Cody letter dated March 30, 2004 confirming the same information. CONDITION: metal finish is fading to brown patina showing scattered light pitting & handling marks. Stock & forearm have aged darkened appearance showing numerous scratches & dents. Bore shows pitting over largely intact rifling. (01-17679/DS). ANTIQUE. $5,000-7,000.
