LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 45-90. S# 139506. The 45-90 chambering is very rare & available only by special order in the extra lightweight rifle & consignor states only 2 produced. Bbl. 22" tapered rnd. w/ ramp mounted sporting front sight & flat top sporting rear sight. Half length takedown mag. Blue finish w/ case colored hammer & lever. Forearm & hard rubber capped pistol grip stock of XX grade fancy black walnut w/ style H factory checkering & hard rubber shotgun butt. Left inside of lower tang is marked w/ assembly # "259" followed by wood grade marking "XX" w/ "RF" stamped on the mainspring retainer. Inside top tang of stock is stamped w/ matching assembly # "259". UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Cody Firearms Museum letter providing the following information " Caliber: 45/90 / Barrel Type: Round / Extra light weight / Checkered stock with pistol grip / 1/2 Magazine / Shotgun butt with rubber buttplate / Takedown / Received in warehouse on December 18, 1906 / Shipped from warehouse on December 19, 1906, Order number 84306." CONDITION: bbl. retains 90% lightly faded blue. Action & bbl. extension retain over 75% blue showing light scratches & having fading in carry areas. Hammer & lever exhibit sm. amounts of faded case colors. Original wood finish shows numerous scratches, sm. dents & handling marks w/ areas of wear & retains sound checkering. Stock has a faint crack extending from the left rear of the top tang. Sound mechanics. Bore is bright w/ strong rifling. (20-1764). CURIO. $7,500-10,000.
